Job Overview

Workforce Planning Manager will lead and optimize workforce planning across two operational sites within one campus with a strong emphasis on robotics and automation, compliance with the Working time directive to effectively allocate resource based on trend data and forecasting.

The operation provides essential logistics services such as inbound & outbound customer fulfilment, value added services and utilisation of an approved network of transport providers for one of the countries top energy providers. This is a fast-paced, 24/7 environment, embracing automation and placing operational best practices at the heart of the operation.

 

This role is fundamental to ensuring that we have the most efficient and effective workforce planning strategy to deploy a flexible resource alongsided a fixed headcount across campus that is responsible for delivering supply chain solutions within two distinct supply chain operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement workforce planning strategies for two sites to ensure optimal resource allocation
  • Monitor and analyze workforce data to forecast staffing needs, evaluate the impact of robotics and automation, and ensure compliance with the Working Time Directive
  • Collaborate with site & department managers to align workforce planning with operational goals and objectives
  • Identify opportunities for productivity improvement and implement initiatives to drive efficiency
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of workforce planning processes to ensure accuracy and effectiveness
  • Implement and maintain systems and tools to support workforce planning activities
  • Work closely with HR and recruitment teams to ensure alignment between workforce planning and recruitment strategies
  • Manage resource & relationships with multiple agency providers.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on workforce planning performance and results
  • Develop and implement workforce planning strategies for two sites to optimize resource allocation, productivity, and efficiency while integrating robotics and automation technologies
  • Implement and maintain systems and tools to support workforce planning activities, considering both the operational and compliance aspects

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience within a warehouse and transport operations with over 200 operatives.
  • Good level of operational experience, managing and/or collaborating with a team of managers.
  • Mentoring direct and indirect team members to adopt new ways of working within existing and future operational methods.
  • Support and maintain processes that help minimise waste and detriment to KPI’s.
  • Experience of cost models and budget tracking.
  • Target driven and clear prioritisation ability.
  • Good statistical analysis skills.
  • Confident and competent decision maker.

 

Desirable:

  • Kaizen implementation experience.
  • Experience of multi-site management through site management teams.
  • Experience of working within a 3PL environment.
  • Project Management and Implementation experience.
  • Good level of Warehouse systems knowledge.
  • Ability to confidently present to a Senior Leadership.
