Learn more about our Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC)
Product identification needs to be fast and effective in any market sector. To meet this requirement, we have developed Msys.EPC, which is a web-based Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC) enabling end-users to accurately identify their product before they order on-line.
All product related data is linked, encrypted and stored in a single data repository. This makes the product identification process fast and accurate, removing duplication and inaccurate selection which can lead to a high level of returns.
Msys.EPC has been developed on the Microsoft .NET platform, future proofing the investment in EPC and enabling high-resolution imagery, fast search routines and efficient translation referencing.
The EPC improves the efficiency of your supply chain through accurate product identification. This leads to fewer stock returns and a more precise stock profile based on current levels of demand.
A double celebration for TVS SCS as we mark 10 years in Germany and cut the tape at our major new site in Baden Baden
Last week was a double celebration for TVS SCS; not only did we mark our 10th anniversary in Germany, we officially opened our new site in Baden Baden.
Germany’s automotive industry is one of the most competitive and innovative in the world; hence we are proud to be a growing organisation in Germany, especially in the automotive industry, with our values of pace and innovation synonymous to the likes of Mercedes, Audi and BMW.
The Event
On Friday 22 April, our German colleagues played host to an array of guests including the Member of State Parliament, Tobias Wald and the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, Roland Fitterer.
Following a champagne reception, guests were welcomed by representatives of TVS from around the world; Andrew Jones, CEO of TVS Supply Chain Solutions for Europe, Mr Dinesh, Managing Director of TVS Logistics, India and Holger Mohr of TVS Autoserv GmbH.
The architect later discussed the design and functionality of the impressive new site, and the Mayor of Baden Baden, Mrs Margret Mergen, stressed the importance of the new site to the local economy.
The New TVS Autoserv Warehouse
The new warehouse facility, which spans an impressive 2,000m2, boasts a dedicated re-packing and rework zone, 2 docks for overseas containers and an office for 6 logistics staff.
Since expanding, we have successfully attracted more manufacturing customers from as far as the US and India, to add to our extensive client list that boasts the likes of BMW, Volvo, Mercedes and Porsche.
We are pleased to be able to support a wide range of supply chain requirements from brokerage, international transports, customs clearance and warehousing.
Looking to the Future
Most importantly, this new site represents not only the expansion of TVS Autoserv in the Supply Chain world, but the importance of Autoserv GmbH in supporting the overall growth and development of the TVS brand world wide.
We anticipate many new opportunities and a growing workforce in Germany, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership with the local community there.
TVS SCS can now provide Customs Warehousing solutions to non-EU import challenges
We are proud to announce that TVS SCS has received HMRC authorisation for Type “A“ Customs Warehousing.
TVS SCS has been offering bespoke Vendor Managed Inventory Solutions for over a decade to UK OEMs in the Automotive & Industrial sectors, through their international supply base managing supplies from non-EU countries. This new authorisation will significantly strengthen our Vendor Managed Inventory value proposition to OEMs, by addressing the challenges associated with non-EU imports.
The challenges faced:
Across all sectors, UK OEMs are facing challenges with non-EU imports from their suppliers who are not established as an entity, or VAT registered in the UK. Although the imported stock is maintained and called off as required from a 3rd party UK warehouse, the following challenges still remain;
OEMs taking the title of stock at the time of customs clearance at the UK port.
Taking on inventory liability for a 4-6 week safety stock on their books in accordance with legislation.
Incurring payment of 20 % VAT on the total value of the goods, in addition to the duty, as well as providing associated bank guarantees.
The solutions that TVS SCS will provide:
TVS SCS can now provide solutions to these challenges through their Type “A” Customs Warehousing Service by helping the OEMS to defer the VAT, the applicable duties, the title of goods and therefore the declaration of inventory liability in the books, until the stock is called off from the TVS SCS warehouse. This provides significant cash flow benefits and mitigates any risks associated with inventory liability.
In addition, TVS SCS have been authorised for Customs Freight Simplified Procedure (CFSP) which enables them to deal electronically with HMRC, allowing faster processing of international trade transactions .
What’s next:
As a next step, TVS SCS has also planned for adoption of Union Customs Code (UCC) and to achieve the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status, which is an internationally recognised quality mark indicating that TVS SCS’ role in the international supply chain is secure.
