Careful management of both internal and client data is of paramount importance to TVS so maintaining strict controls is necessary to protect against an ever changing threat. We were awarded the internationally recognised standard back in April 2017 demonstrating our commitment to security, compliance and continual improvement processes, complementing our Cyber Essential’s Plus Certification.
What is ISO/IEC 27001?
The ISO 27001 standard is an- internationally recognised management system tool to help organisations better manage the confidentiality, integrity and availability of their information assets. ISO 27001 certification can help protect systems against computer-assisted fraud, cyber-attack, sabotage and viruses, it also promotes compliance to the GDPR. It is now becoming more common for organisations to have certification to ISO 27001 as a prerequisite for doing business.
TVS SCS secures Integrated Logistics Support Contract
TVS Supply Chain Solutions is proud to announce that it shall be providing Integrated Logistics support through Equinox to the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) for the recently awarded Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) Programme Delivery Partner (PDP) contract.
The PDP contract has been awarded to the U.K. businesses of Jacobs and Turner & Townsend, under the Equinox joint venture, with TVS as a key sub-contractor to Equinox.
The scope of the contract includes the provision of specialist temporary Project Management, Project Controls and Integrated Logistics (iLog) support.
The two-year contract, with the option to extend for an additional two years, will see TVS Supply Chain Solutions providing specialist functional support services in relation to Integrated Logistics Services spanning Service Delivery Management, Supply Chain Management, Technical Through Life Support and Logistics Modelling & Analysis.
DE&S has responsibility for equipping and supporting the UK’s Armed Forces. This includes the procurement of new military equipment, commodities and services, support to in-service equipment through-life, and management of global logistics operations.
TVS’ Supply Chain Management and Logistics professionals bring industry best practice and proven commercial solutions to support DE&S in identifying emerging technologies and innovations to enhance performance, increase efficiency, and deliver cost efficiencies.

A First for TVS SCS at DVD!
TVS Supply Chain Solutions (TVS SCS) are pleased to announce that we will once again be exhibiting at DVD 2018, - The Defence Vehicle Dynamics Show which is held at Millbrook Proving Ground on the 19th & 20th September.
DVD 2018 is THE EVENT for those involved in the equipment and support for the UK’s Land Forces, bringing together industry and defence in this sector to develop ideas and generate greater understanding of technologies, capabilities and requirements.
The event is jointly sponsored by the Army and DE&S Land Equipment and recognises the capability role taken on by the Army as part of Defence Transformation.
As well as exhibiting, TVS SCS are also sponsoring the Café and in an exciting development for DVD 2018, will also have a speaker slot. Speaker sessions have been opened up to industry experts to encourage debate on the challenges our armed forces face and consider innovative solutions for implementation across a number of key areas, one of those being Reducing Logistic Need (RLN).

TVS SCS’s In-House Charity is Inspired!
TVS Supply Chain Solution’s In-house Charity, Assist, has recently made a generous donation to local Chorley Youth Zone, known to locals as “Inspire”.
This purpose built facility is for the borough’s young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 for those with disabilities. It provides access to fantastic facilities in a fun and safe environment.
Inspire Youth Zone allows young people to enjoy themselves and to raise their aspirations and confidence to create a happier and healthier generation with activities ranging from sport and arts, music and drama to employability and life skills workshops.
Steve Walters, TVS Assist Committee member, visited the centre and said “I was blown away by the work that goes on at Inspire”.
Sara Eltman, Fundraising Development Manager, said “Please be assured that your donation will make a huge difference to thousands of young people in the Chorley area. TVS SCS showcases its Technology to UK & Indian Prime Ministers
TVS Supply Chain Solutions were delighted to demonstrate its innovative supply chain technology to UK Prime Minister Theresa May and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an exclusive Foreign Commonwealth Office and Department for International Trade event at the Crick Institute in London.
The PM’s visit to the Sir Francis Crick Institute was to launch a new £13m Tech Alliance between the 2 countries and announce £1bn worth of business deals.
TVS SCS were one of just 4 companies requested to be part of a tech collaboration event where they were asked to showcase their Intelligent Information Management System, the benefits it brings to government departments/large organisations and the collaboration they are promoting across UK and India.
A live demo of its e-commerce capability evidenced how TVS’s investment in its intelligent information management system (Msys) optimises client’s supply chains and reduces operational costs across Defence, Automotive, Beverage and Utility organisations.

TVS to attend DefEXPO 2018, Chennai 11th April -14th April 2018
TVS will be introducing its experience in the Defence sector to its home territory of India at DEFEXPO 2018; a land, naval and internal homeland security systems exhibition in Chennai.
Long-standing relationship with the UK MoD
TVS already has a long-standing relationship with the UK MoD and services a number of military contracts, including the provision of spare parts for Land Rover and Armoured Fighting Vehicles, along with workshop spares for a range of fighting vehicles including; Warrior, CVR (T), Challenger II, CRARRV, Stormer, Titan and Trojan. TVS also has a contract to procure and support consumables for Army field kitchens and operates bespoke Defence warehousing facilities.
Most notably, TVS has ability to manage obsolescence across a variety of Defence equipment including vehicles and a range of support solutions for battlefield equipment, including the Rapier missile system. TVS is now offering its skills and capabilities to support the Indian Armed Forces with the challenges they face in supporting legacy vehicle fleets.
TVS Integral Part of Team Leidos
In 2015 TVS, through its UK Supply Chain Solutions business, was successful in its bid to Leidos Europe Ltd to become part of Team Leidos; the expert team of defence and logistic specialist subcontractors charged with delivering the UK MoD’s Logistic Commodities & Services Transformation (LCS(T)) programme.
LCS(T) provides significant operational effectiveness by delivering improved responsiveness and agility. It will also improve efficiency in procurement and stock control of food, clothing, general and medical supplies as well as storage and distribution. It is expected to deliver financial savings of around £0.5 billion over the next thirteen years.
More efficiencies and significant cost savings
Minister for Defence Equipment, Support and Technology, Philip Dunne MP, said at the time of contract award:
“I am pleased to confirm that the transaction with Team Leidos will bring the military’s logistics, commodities and support services up to the standard of industry best practice, deliver more efficient and effective processes across the supply chain and enhance the quality of support provided to our Armed Forces.
This will generate significant savings of around £0.5 billion over the life of the contract, representing good value for money for the taxpayer and, in due course, will deliver state of the art fulfilment to our inventory management processes and systems. The transaction will involve the TUPE transfer of some 1,250 staff.”
Mr Ravichandran the Executive Director of TVS Logistics Services Ltd, is hoping that TVS’ UK position will transition into winning Indian MoD business.
“08/04 At present, India’s MoD supply chain is managed internally along the lines of the UK MoD before its recent changes. Using our expertise gained in various UK MoD contracts we aim to position TVS through Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Made In India’ banner to bring a new streamlined logistic supply chain for India’s MoD which would benefit from sophisticated inventory planning and management, consolidation of warehousing and proven IT systems capable of storing, analysing and streamlining procurement processes for true best value. We intend to transform India’s Defence logistics landscape by combining TVS’ significant in-country capability and its UK experience to deliver certainty of military supply at minimal cost.”

TVS expands its UK footprint
TVS Supply Chain Solutions (TVS SCS) is pleased to announce the opening of its brand-new state of the art warehouse and through life support centre located at Banbury adjoining the M40 motorway.
The new facility accommodates TVS SCS’s existing customers in the Automotive, and Defence sectors, whilst providing capacity for new clients who need supply chain services in a central strategic location.
The scheme, known as Central M40, is being developed by national logistics specialist db symmetry.
The location provides fast access to the M40 motorway at Junction 11, increasing transport links with the East Midlands, West Midlands and London/South-East markets.
Andrew Jones CEO of TVS Europe commented “We are adding another good strategic location to service our current client’s expansion plans and a state of the art facility that would support the ambition of potential customers. I’m delighted we have been able to locate a suitable facility in such a prominent location. “
Harry Sadleir, development director at db symmetry, added: “Yet again, we have succeeded in securing an excellent occupier at Central M40. Our decision to develop high-quality logistics space in strategic locations has been rewarded and with further interest in the remaining unit, we are actively looking at further development here at the site.”
Global Investment for Innovation Centre
TVS opens up its first Innovation Centre in St Louis, Missouri, North America. The centre of excellence which opened in October 2017 has been designed to offer research and development space for engineering teams whilst also providing a demonstration area of our technologies for current and prospective clients.
The centre currently showcases technologies including JIT, In Sequence and VAA error proofing technology, voice picking and vision picking. Vision picking combines the key benefits of voice and RF scanner picking to deliver a state-of-the-art solution to your supply chain. Vision picking facilitates an intuitive, error-proofing picking process to simplify operator training and eliminate picking errors.
The Innovation Centre creates a collaborative environment where employees and customers can come to together and share their ideas. Customers are able to receive custom-tailored experiences where TVS will showcase the processes and technological solutions that will suit their supply chain needs. During these experiences, customers will be able to gain a more interactive and visual experience of the capabilities that TVS is able to provide for them.
TVS SCS Supports a Military Masterchef at Exercise Joint Caterer
The TVS Supply Chain Solutions team visited the Defence Capability Centre in Shrivenham last week, where we were proud sponsors of the ‘Open Fish Dish’ at Exercise Joint Caterer.
Exercise Joint Caterer is an exciting oppor-tuna-tey for chefs and caterers in the forces to compete in a culinary challenge and demonstrate their skills. The competition, which today entered its 17th year, is a positive celebration of creativity, skill, taste and team spirit within the forces.
As a major contractor to the UK defence industry, TVS was more than happy to get behind the initiative and show our support. (TVS SCS is the current supplier of the UK MoD’s Field Catering Equipment, which covers some 300 NATO Stock Numbers).
