TVS Deliver ISO22301 – Business Continuity Certification
TVS has recently gained certification to its fifth ISO management system ISO22301 – Business Continuity.
ISO22301 focuses on the threats that can disrupt business as usual process and is used to formalise how a company can protect against, reduce the likelihood of and recover from a serious incident. The types of interruptions may include cyber-attack, natural disaster, system failure, supply chain disruption and loss of skilled staff, amongst others. Having a formally certified management system is imperative to the TVS operation. It demonstrates our commitment to our interested parties that business continuity planning and emergency preparedness is considered and in place.
The six-day external certification audit, undertaken by a UKAS accredited body, was completed with 0 non-conformances. It highlights the robust management system put in place to fulfil the requirements of the ISO22301 standard.
TVS adds ISO22301 as part of its ongoing strategy around developing an integrated management system across the workplace. It gives our customers peace of mind that we take into account the quality of the products they are buying from us (ISO9001), our impact upon the environment (ISO14001), ensuring our workplace is safe (OHSAS18001), our commitment to maintaining information security (ISO27001), and our ability to demonstrate business continuity in the event of a business-impacting incident (ISO22301).

Reporting for Duty
TVS’ initiative to train both our staff and clients on our reporting system is proving a huge success.
Msys-BDA provides a full suite of analytic tools across the business. The implementation of the BDA tool is driving a change to how TVS and their Clients view data. It is now seen as the key to understanding what is happening within their business and therefore, these skills are relevant to many more people within the organisation. Simple reporting is now being replaced by customised dashboards created, to help identify and question trends. In turn, this encourages the drive for continuous improvement throughout the business.
The focus for the coming year is to take our clients on the same journey that our internal users have been on. Our clients already recognise the importance of having their data available. By showing them the capabilities of the new tool they are starting to generate ideas of how they wish to visualise their data, the possibilities of AI, and the limitless data sources that BDA can now accommodate.
TVS’s commitment to the development of people across the whole business is evident in the 172 people that have received training thus far. Over half have completed the level two course and 35% of the people that have initiated the training have gone through to achieve the top level of training. The scope of this is to expand the practice further up to a higher and more complex standard and have every employee of TVS trained to the maximum level. The development of training is an essential goal of TVS as we encourage our employees to expand their knowledge and skillsets regardless of their role. One of the internal trainers for the BDA system, Jan Vermeer says;
“Enriching the data analytical skills, across the whole company, shows the commitment that we, as TVS, have made towards our people. It is what will enable us to service our clients even better”.
A celebration event took place with mince pies to celebrate the success of everybody who has completed the training so far, as well as encouraging those who haven’t to get involved and learn a new skill.
TVS Support SSAFA Race Day 2019
TVS was one of the race sponsors at this year’s Soldiers Sailors Airmen Families Association (SSAFA) race day at Chepstow.
The SSAFA Race day is an event that TVS has proudly sponsored over a number of years and this year supported the event further by sponsoring the ‘TVS Handicap Hurdle Race’.
This year the event has raised a whopping £27,612 with a cumulative total of £92,000 over the five years it has run. This is a substantial amount of money for the Armed Forces Charity and a massive improvement on last year’s total, which was around £23,000.
Paul Kettle – Business Development Director for Defence at TVS
“I was delighted that a number of our customers were able to join us and help raise a significant amount of money for this important charity. We recognise the vital role the Armed Forces make to the security of this country so providing assistance to families who have a need is something we feel proud to support”.
The Armed Forces Charity exists to relieve the armed forces and veterans of distress, need and suffering for servicemen, veterans, and their families whilst supporting their independence and dignity. Last year the charity helped over 82,000 people, it is because of events like this that the SSAFA can continue to do the work they do.
