TVS are working as part of Team Leidos, which is a team of defence and logistics specialists, supporting a major contract providing an end to end supply chain service delivering commodity and inventory savings to the UK Ministry of Defence.

We are now recruiting for a R & D Clothing Manager (PPE) working for TVS at the Team Leidos offices at Emersons Green in Bristol as part of a vibrant and dynamic team, committed to transforming the way the MOD works.

Please note we work on a hybrid model of four days WFH and one day in our offices in Emersons Green, Bristol each week. Therefore, you must be located within reasonable commuting distance to Bristol.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop and deliver new customer requirements of PPE items, i.e. eyewear, headwear, hearing protection and gloves.
  • Working with the customer and suppliers at all points of the item development
  • Ensuring all PPE items adhere to the requirement of the customer
  • Writing the specification and ensuring they are compliant to the customer’s requirements and any relevant legislation (CE Certification etc.)
  • Ensure relevant technical managers are briefed and aware of new requirements that may be added to their portfolio
  • Provide customer facing and Industry facing support and guidance with regards to the PPE items.
  • Work with the R&D Clothing Lead to scope timelines for project completion and adherence to the critical path
  • Undertake the processing of the new requirement of the PPE items, working hand in hand with the supplier, including patterns, samples, manufacturing, test reports and product certification
  • Write specification for new products / requirements
  • Complete Research & Development and product trials for new items as required.
  • Assist in management of (receipt, storage, retrieval and maintenance) of patterns and samples held within the Pattern Room.
  • Visit suppliers and relevant industry meeting and exhibitions to maintain and enhance PPE product knowledge

Qualifications and Skills

  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with PPE.
  • Highly motivated with high attention to detail.
  • Computer literate – experienced in using databases and spreadsheets.
  • This role will include UK & overseas travel
  • Team Work, fast-paced environment

The successful candidate will be required go through a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) Clearance.
