Job Overview

TVS are operating as part of Team Leidos, a team of defence and logistics specialists, supporting a major transformation contract providing an end to end supply chain service delivering commodity and inventory savings to the UK Ministry of Defence.

Based at Emersons Green we are now recruiting for a Project Manager working for TVS at the Team Leidos offices at Emersons Green in Bristol as part of a vibrant and dynamic team, committed to transforming the way the MOD works.

Purpose:

Increase cost benefits by –

Working with our Military customer, Technical Specialist and Suppliers to –

• Complete an in-depth reviews of all tri-service PPE Item specifications to ensure that the materials used are the most cost effective while remaining suitable for the product concerned

• Address the balance from Modified Off The Shelf (MOTS) Items to readily available Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Items

• Complete a full review of all sizing schedules for all clothing items with aim to – revise the numbers of sizes included in bespoke ranges which are significantly greater than commercial norms.

• Research and find possible alternative methods and products and then positively engage with our customer to gain commitment to look at alternative methods and products identified.

Job Responsibilities

• Challenge Need Vs Wants – attend schedule meeting between our customer and technical specialists with the aim to challenge the needs of our customer verses the wants.

• Rationalisation – complete a full Specification review, with an outcome of suggestions for possible different fabrics, metals, colours, new innovations etc. Also look for items that can be dual rolled.

• MOTS Vs COTS – look for opportunities to change modified items (tailored made) to commercial “off the shelf” items

• Cross reference materials used across all specification, look to streamline where possible.
