Job Overview

  • To provide support and guidance to the pattern room team and ensure the day to day operational business of the pattern room is maintained.
  • Build strong working relationship with CMO, suppliers, technical managers, STSP, and estates team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the pattern room team, setting clear and SMART objectives, tracking the progress of objectives, and conducting monthly 1:1’s with team members as well as holding monthly team meetings and providing day to day support as required.
  • Ensure all teams training and development requirements are captured and a training programme is maintained.
  • Work to ensure the correct training is in place to improve the knowledge base of the team.
  • Manage the pattern room team’s workload / activities, ensuring correct prioritisation in a fast placed and complex environment.
  • Ensure the Clothing Commodity Manager is briefed immediately on any issues and kept appraised of progress.
  • Ensure all interdepartmental communications are clear and concise.
  • Look to improve efficiencies, work with the team and other departments to write new and/or update processes.
  • Responsible for health and safety within the pattern room
  • Be the main point of contact for Team Leidos teams, STSP and suppliers
  • Ensure all day to day activities within the pattern room are managed, including, but not limited to, Asset Register, missing and/or damaged pattern, Master and Standard Pattern Audits, database, BOC, Obsoletes, CWS, disposal process, bookings, issue vouchers, trials stock, stock checks etc
  • Budget responsibility for stationery
  • Responsible for providing data to support TVS Clothing Commodities MI

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong people skills and experience of line managing a team.
  • Experience of working with colleagues to offer coaching and mentoring to improve their practice and enhance their skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a good standard of education.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills utilising tact and discretion as required.
  • Competent in Microsoft office applications, such as, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and internal IT database systems.
  • Experience of delivering change to enable businesses to grow and achieve their objectives.
  • Analytical and research skills as well as a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise, work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
  • The ability to build relationships with those around you and the ability to motivate and inspire.
  • The ability to identify complex problems and review related information in order to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions / make decisions.
