Job Overview

Exciting opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary team.  Over the last few years, we have been successful in creating a Master Data Management (MDM) Team that has provided the lead on Item Data support through a Major Transformation Programme for the Logistics and Commodity Services Transformation LCST) contract in support of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).


We are seeking an MDM Team Leader who has experience in Data Improvement and Data Maturity.  The person we are seeking is an experienced and effective leader and manager with excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills and an ability to communicate flexibly with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.


You will be an experienced and effective project manager who is capable of planning, managing, and delivering projects.  You will be skilled at assessing risks, driving conclusions and have a proven ability to shape and deliver projects to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers in an evolving governance environment.  You will also be able to develop the MDM team through training, coaching, and supervising team members

Job Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing the 13-strong Master Data Management Team who undertake the data maintenance and configuration of a large portfolio of Commodity products for the Ministry of Defence (clothing, medical, food, oils and lubricants, batteries and general supply items).
  • Collaboration across partner companies for the integration of end-to-end IS solutions.
  • Managing the delivery and maintenance of the LCST E-commerce catalogue
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures for effective data handling and management.
  • Ensuring that the company’s data management protocols are in line with regulatory standards for Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) distribution licensing and the Military Airworthiness Authority (MAA) Airworthiness regulations.
  • Ensuring that all Commodity Data meets the required Data Quality Standards and that this supports Data and IT integration across Team LEIDOS.
  • Providing guidance and training for team members


The IS systems used by the MDM team include the in-house Product Data Management (PDM) and Enterprise Resource & Planning (ERP) systems as well as reporting environments and SharePoint/Web portals.  The team also utilize MOD legacy Logistics IS systems.




Qualifications and Skills

  • Educated to Degree Level or equivalent, ideally in a Data or Engineering related science.
  • Project Management Qualification at practitioner Level (APM/Prince II) with knowledge of Agile.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Office, SharePoint (confident with Excel, Project and Visio).
  • Demonstrable Integrity and dependability with Strong Team building and motivational skills.
  • Goal setting & Planning and ability to manage conflict effectively.
  • Confident communicator and motivator with good written and verbal communication.
  • Strong Data Analytic Skills – and the ability to manipulate data into Management Information.
