Job Overview

We are looking for an IT Operations Specialist to join our team and commitment to providing excellent IT Support for TVS on the LCST Team Leidos contract. As an IT Operations Specialist at TVS Supply Chain Solutions you will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to provide support for our internal Customers and Colleagues across a breadth of IT Hardware and Software. You will also be responsible for implementing application upgrades and supporting a variety of IT projects. You will support our IT Infrastructure team with maintaining a secure and high availability platforms, servers and networks. Achieved through monitoring, maintaining, supporting, optimising and improving our support and environments. A can-do, proactive approach is essential.

 

Security Clearance Requirement

Candidates must be eligible to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and a further Security Check (SC) clearance. This process includes verification of identity, right to work in the UK, employment, financial and family history plus a basic criminal records check for unspent convictions. Please note that candidates must have resided in the UK for 5 years to meet SC eligibility requirements.

Job Responsibilities

You will be working as part of the Bristol IT Team providing support to the LCST contract and other sites in the UK. Support ranges from hardware support, software support, IT Request fulfilment, onboarding and offboarding and getting involved with key IT Projects supporting our Infrastructure team & Development teams.
Suitable candidates would be expected to:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Managing and executing application upgrades as part of BAU and for change requests
  • Become an SME in selected applications, create and communicate process documents relating to chosen applications
  • Ensure high levels of performance, availability and security throughout the IT Infrastructure and IT Applications
  • Independently analyse, diagnose and resolve issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
  • Provide timely and appropriate escalations to 3rd Line when required
  • Own and Manage faults reported to third party suppliers, maintaining communication updates throughout
  • Assist with the procurement, build/configuration of PC’s, laptops and other equipment
  • Promote IT Best Practice and increase knowledge or core IT Systems in the user community
  • Provide remote and onsite assistance

Qualifications and Skills

  • Highly driven and determined individual with excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstratable and proven ability to work on own initiative with good organisational skills and self-drive
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with natural aptitude to consider impact to the customer
  • Understanding of Service and Network infrastructures
  • Office 365 experience – administration and training
  • Windows 10/11 Desktop Support
  • Android and Apple mobile support
  • Microsoft Azure and SharePoint experience
  • Windows Server experience
  • AWS experience desirable
