Job Description
Job Overview
This role is concerned with the technical & operational leadership of an existing estate, its infrastructure and associated hardware & software; ranging from in-house propriety systems, legacy ageing systems to external contracted in systems. The requirement of the role is to fully understand the ‘as-is’ state of this complex estate from a technical perspective, make recommendations for changes and improvements and to then gain buy-in from stakeholders and the C-Suite and project manage these changes from concept, through testing to delivery.
Job Responsibilities
Identify areas for infrastructure and systems environment improvements
Lead and direct new technology roll-outs and implementation
Engage stakeholders and gain ‘buy-in’ across disparate business functions both inside and outside of the Business Technology teams to drive change
Develop detailed project plans and maintain plan through life of project
Deliver project activities in line with agreed time scales, ensuring any changes to approved timing are formally agreed with relevant stakeholders.
Provide advice and guidance to exploit current systems capability
Represent the company in the UK and be a ‘Technology Champion’
Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
Understanding of System development methodology.
Experience in an IT Systems Development Environment
Experience of large migration/upgrade IT projects
Experience operating in Agile methodology
Experience in implementing Microsoft technologies
Understanding of the software development lifecycle
Desirable:
Understanding of supply chain application systems and business processes
Knowledge of an ERP system deployed in a logistics/supply chain environment
Qualifications and skills:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject
Outstanding Interpersonal skills both in written and oral communication
Self starter, able to work on activities with minimal supervision
Strong problem solving and analysis skills coupled with creativity and innovation
A thirst for learning and change with a real interest in technology and its future
Strong influencing and persuading skills
