Job Overview

The role of General Supplies Technical Support will be to work as part of a small team of technical specialists within the cross functional General Supplies team. The primary role of the technical team is to ensure the correct technical data maintenance, customer requirement capture, specification development, in-service technical management, rationalisation and commercialisation of a range of products required to maintain and support a vast range of military platforms operating in the Maritime, Land and Air environments.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Supplies and Oils Lubricants and Gases Commodity Manager, you will:

  • Assist with technical data specification, capture and maintenance within our Msys Product Data Management System.
  • Analyse client’s product data for both new products and changes at component level.
  • Look for process improvements and/or efficiencies in data handling.
  • Provide technical support to contract tender and management.
  • Identify products from technical publications and drawings.
  • Act as a technical expert for the range of GS products within remit.
  • Manage the technical support and data relating to the through life support of General supplies equipment and consumables.
  • Visit suppliers and relevant Industry meetings and exhibitions to maintain and enhance General Supplies product knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Good interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in the use of MS Office applications; in particular.
  • Ability to prepare bulk upload data files using Excel and CSV format.
  • Ability to undertake data analysis in Excel using vlookup up and pivot tables
  • A willingness to further develop your technical knowledge.
  • A technical background and able to demonstrate an element of technical training.


Normally based from offices in Emersons Green we operate flexible start and finish times, have onsite car parking and an earlier finish time on Friday afternoon ensuring a good work life balance. Currently we are operating on a work from home basis that is under constant review as the National guidelines and situation develops.

The successful candidate will be required go through a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) Clearance.
