Job Overview

TVS are operating as part of Team Leidos, a team of defence and logistics specialists, supporting a major transformation contract providing an end to end supply chain service delivering commodity and inventory savings to the UK Ministry of Defence.

 

We are now recruiting for a Configuration Control Manager working for TVS at the Team Leidos offices at Emersons Green in Bristol as part of a vibrant and dynamic team, committed to transforming the way the MOD works. This role is currently working remotely from home.

Job Responsibilities

The role of the Configuration Control Manager is to review, develop and maintain compliance outputs in line with DefStan 05-57 issue 7 for all Airworthiness Certified Item (ACI) referenced materiel.

  • Act as POC for Commodity Managers and equipment leads in relation to configuration control management.
  • Establish and document processes for management of configuration control as outlined in DefStan 05-57 and the following specific MAA Regulatory Articles (RAs) :
  • 1014 – Design Organisations & Co-ordinating Design Organisations Airworthiness Responsibilities.
  • 1018 – Production Organisation – Airworthiness Responsibilities.
  • 5203 – Material Specification.
  • 5301 – Control of Designs.
  • 5303 – Local technical committee.
  • 5304 – Configuration Control Board.
  • 5401 – Provision of technical information.
  • Develop and maintain process artefacts and training to support deployment of the above process within CSS.
  • Establish a configuration management planning process (CMP) in line with DefStan requirements.
  • Work with the Master Data Management team to leverage wherever possible best in class Msys capability to support configuration control and for establishment and management of product configuration baselines.
  • Create and deploy a suitable configuration change management control process and audit process.
  • Build relevant business MI to monitor supplier and business performance in relation to configuration control to support First Strike availability metrics across CSS.
  • Support and mentor Commodity Managers and technicians in relation to management of configuration control.

Experience

  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, with extensive knowledge of configuration control practices in an Aerospace environment.
  • Must have broad level of knowledge of the Product Lifecycle and Configuration Management domains, and in-depth knowledge in at least one of these areas.
  • Experience with Msys or similar ERP tools or with configuration management platforms such as DOORs would be useful.
