Job Overview

  • Support the implementation of procurement strategies to assist in business growth, increased margins and cost saving initiatives.
  • Assist in the strategic purchasing input and support to Business Development team.
  • Support SRM activities to drive commodity strategies creation and cost reduction plans.
  • Identify and develop new supply chains as required to support business objectives.
  • Contribute to producing commercial modelling and pricing proposals for bid submissions.
  • Maintaining close working relationships with the Client and Account/Business Development Managers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supplier relationship management.
  • Analysis of product item information and cleansing of excel data to enable request for quotation to be created.
  • Creation of quotations, emailing suppliers and expediting quotations to meet tight deadlines.
  • Interpreting supplier quotations and requesting any missing information.
  • Data inputting of large volume of pricing into commercial excel documents, ensuring information is complete and accurate.
  • Taking ownership of tasks through to completion
  • Providing actionable summary information to the buyers
  • Assist the buyers in ensuring client requests are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Support the operational supply function with problem resolution.
  • Develop value adding relationships with cross functional departments and suppliers.
  • Maintain the day to day running of the purchasing process ensuring compliance and efficiency across the business.
  • Identification of process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Confident and effective communicator to all stakeholders.
  • Computer literacy, especially strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and able to analyse data.
  • Strong administration skills.
  • Proactive and self-driven.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritise workload accordingly.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and processes.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Commercial analysis.
  • Professional and ethical in approach.
  • Results driven.
  • 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced purchasing department.
  • Experience in dealing with suppliers and customers.
  • Customer Focused.
  • Astute in decision making / exercising judgement.
  • Experience building supplier relationships.
  • Strong team ethic.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
