About the role:

Thanks to our past success and ongoing projects we are currently seeking a Business Solutions Project Manager working in our finance team reporting to the Bid Development Manager and  based at our head office in Chorley.  The purpose of the role is To work as an integral part of the Bid Development team to ensure maximum chance of success of winning new business and successful implementation of Business Wins.

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Process mapping proposed new business solutions and contributing to innovative ways to respond to customer requirements
  • Support the Business Development and Bid Development teams in preparing responses to new business tenders including drafting bid responses
  • Identification and analysis of relevant data input information from the customer
  • Project managing and coordinating the wider business to successful implementation of new business wins, ensuring that client expectations are met or surpassed
  • Building strong relationships with clients during the implementation phase of business wins
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure smooth Implementation of winning bids
  • Remaining abreast of relevant logistics industry developments
  • Development of strong inter-personal relationships with other members of the Bid Development team and colleagues in the wider business

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • A relevant logistic qualification would be preferred, but not essential
  • Demonstrable attributes that would highlight abilities to support the design and Implementation of innovative solutions
  • Presentation skills using appropriate media
  • Ability to establish credible presence and build relationships within the New Business process
  • Ability to verbally communicate across departments and at multiple levels internally
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Ability to verbally communicate with customers externally
  • The ability to analyse and manipulate data in a logical way and draw supported conclusions to aid the design of solutions
  • Technical skills should include:
  • Spreadsheet and database analytical techniques (MS Excel)
  • Warehouse layout and volume/productivity/resource skills (Cirrus)
  • Project planning (MS Project)

Our head office is based at a purpose built, state of the art distribution facility on Buckshaw Village in Chorley with excellent transport links to the M61 and M6 plus a mainline train station less than a mile away. The office has on site parking, shower facilities for those who brave the elements on a bike or on foot and a subsidised canteen.
